(APIL) established in 1992 is the Indian arm of the France–based multinational company, Alstom. Alstom has supplied more than 25% of the world's installed power generation capacity. Alstom in India has full capabilities in engineering, manufacturing, project management and supply of power generation equipment. It also has a significant presence in the transport sector in India providing railway equipment and technology solutions.
GE Power India Ltd. operates through Power segment and it is also engaged in the manufacture of steam generators. The Company's business divisions include Steam Power Systems, including boilers, mills and environmental control systems; Hydro; Power Services; Gas Power Systems, and Power Automation & Controls. The Company is also serves the power generation equipment market and it offers a portfolio of power generation solutions for thermal and hydro energy-based power projects. The company employs 3500 people in the country. The Company has engineering centers in Noida and Kolkata; hydro manufacturing units in Vadodara; Boilers in Durgapur, and Coal Mills in Shahabad.and also it has three sales offices.
Its holding company is Alstom India Tracking BV and ultimate holding company is General Electric Company. Alstom Projects India deals with manufacture of power supply generation equipment and rail equipment.
