It is a Ahmedabad-based well known research-oriented, technology-driven pharmaceutical company incorporated in May 1995 focused on the research areas of biotechnology, formulations and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Mr. Pankaj R. Patel is the Chairman of the company. The company manufacturer of generic drugs, and its manufacturing units at Ahmedabad, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Ponda in Goa, Raigad in Maharashtra and Solan in Himachal Pradesh.
The Company's subsidiaries include Zydus Wellness Ltd, German Remedies Limited, Dialforhealth India Ltd, Dialforhealth Unity Ltd, Liva Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Biochem Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Windlas Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Zydus Technologies Ltd, and Dialforhealth Greencross Ltd, among others. Cadila Healthcare’s operation includes pharmaceuticals, which includes human formulations, veterinary formulations and bulk durgs, diagnostics, herbal products, skin care products and OTC products.
History - Cadila was founded in 1952 by Ramanbhai Patel with his business partner Indravadan Modi. Patel and Modi families split in 1995. The Modi family's share was moved into a new company called Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and the Patel family moved on Cadila Healthcare Ltd became the holding company. Cadila Healthcare had raised fund by initial public offering on the Bombay Stock Exchange in 2000.
