Century Textiles
Century Textiles was established in 1897 with its Registered Office at Mumbai. It is a Birla Group company. The main business of the company is manufacture of cotton textiles, yarn, denim, viscose filament rayon yarn, tire-cords, caustic soda, sulphuric acid, salt, cement, pulp, and paper. It remarkable presence in the Real Estate sectors also. Century Textiles exports its products to more than 45 countries. The Government of India also awarded it with 'Three Star Export House' status.
The Company's works in 4 segments include Textiles, Pulp & Paper, Cement and Real Estate, Textile includes yarn, cloth and denim cloth, viscose filament yarn and tire yarn; Pulp and Paper includes pulp, writing and printing paper, tissue paper and multilayer packaging board; Cement includes cement and clinker; Real Estate includes leased properties, and Others, which includes salt works, chemicals and floriculture.
The Company operates through various divisions, such as Birla Century, Century Cement, Century Yarn, Maihar Cement, Century Denim, Manikgarh Cement, Cottons by Century, Century Pulp and Paper, and Century Rayon. The Company has approximately five cement plants and a grinding unit at various locations, with a total cement manufacturing capacity of over 12.8 million tons per annum. Its manufacturing units are located at Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
