The Dharamsi Morarji Chemical Co. Ltd., (DMCC) was established late Ratansi D Morarji to manufacture chemicals at Ambernath, Mumbai in 1919. DMCC was the first producer of Sulphuric Acid and Phosphate fertilizers in India. Today, it is a multi-product, multi-locational organisation which has emerged as the single largest manufacturer of SSP in the country and a major producer of heavy chemicals and it is an ISO 9001:2008 accredited organization. DMCC offers speciality chemicals and commodity chemicals.


The Company's segments include Chemicals and Others. It offers its products in various categories, such as base chemicals, including Chloro Sulphonic Acid (Commercial Grade), Diethyl Ether, Oleum 23% (Commercial Grade), Oleum 65% (Commercial Grade), Sulfuric Acid (Battery Grade) and Sulfuric Anhydride (Stabilised); functional chemicals, including 3,3' - Diamino Diphenyl Sulfone, Benzene Sulfonamide and Benzene Sulfonic Acid; industrial intermediates, including 3,3' - Dinitro Diphenyl Sulfone and Propargyl Chloride 98%, and life science, including 4,4' - Dichloro Diphenyl Sulfone, Benzene Sulfonyl Chloride, Diethyl Ether, Diethyl Sulfate, Sodium P-Chloro Benzene Sulfonate and Sodium Phenol Sulfonate.

DMCC has promoted Udaipur Phosphates and Fertilisers and Borax Morarji, where it has 32% and a 38.62% equity stakes, respectively. It has a 33.05% stake in the other group company - Albright, Morarji and Pandit. It offers process design, engineering package, procurement assistance and commissioning of plants for various products, including Single Superphosphate, Alumina Sulfate and Sulfamic Acid. In addition to manufacturing fertilisers, various acids and chemicals, the company has a well-developed external project division which offers services such as basic and detailed engineering, project management, supervision of erection and commissioning services for sulphuric acid plants, various grades of oleums, SSP, alumina sulphate, recovery of hydrofluorosilicic acid, pollution control and effluent treatment plants.
